Comprehensive Plan Update

The City of Blue Ridge is currently working on an update to its Comprehensive Plan. A Comprehensive Plan is a long-range planning document that serves as a guide for future growth and development within the community. It helps City leaders make informed decisions about land use, infrastructure, transportation, housing, economic development, and community services—while preserving the character and values that make Blue Ridge unique.

This plan is intended to reflect the needs, goals, and vision of our residents and will be shaped through public input, data analysis, and collaboration with City staff and officials.

Planning Consultant: MHS Planning & Design

The City of Blue Ridge has partnered with MHS Planning & Design, a professional planning and design firm based in Tyler, Texas, to lead the Comprehensive Plan update.

MHS Planning & Design specializes in helping small and growing communities plan responsibly for the future. Their team works closely with local officials and residents to create practical, community-driven plans that balance growth, infrastructure needs, and long-term sustainability.

For Blue Ridge, MHS Planning & Design will focus on:

  • Evaluating current land use and development patterns

  • Identifying opportunities for thoughtful growth and reinvestment

  • Preserving the small-town character of the community

  • Providing clear, actionable recommendations that City Council can use when making future decisions
