Rodeo Parade Road Closures
July 13, 2018
ROAD CLOSURES: at approximately 5:45pm roads will start being be CLOSED for the Rodeo Parade. The Parade will start moving at 6:00pm. Roads to be effected are N Church at FM 545 (you will be able to use S Church to Benjamin Lane to S Bus 78) NO entrance to N. Church, North and South Business Hwy 78 from CR504 to Benjamin Lane, which includes Ridgeway, E Lamm, W Lamm, North and South Main, North and South Morrow and FM981.
PARADE ROUTE: CR 504 to Bus 78, Bus 78 south to FM545, FM545 to S. Main, S. Main to South side of the Square to Bus 78, Bus 78 north to CR504.
Upcoming Road Construction

FYI: At the July meeting City Council approved a Certificate of Obligation to reconstruct Ridgeway from Hwy 78 to Bus Hwy 78. The Public Works Department will be removing some of the worse areas and replacing with rock. This will be temporary until permanent construction begins. We will keep you informed as this projects proceeds.
Burn Ban for Collin County
July 06, 2018
July 5, 2018: County Judge Keith Self issued an outdoor burn ban for unincorporated areas of Collin County effective July 5, 2018, due to extremely dry conditions in rural areas.The 90-day ban will be formally confirmed at the next Commissioners Court, and will remain in effect until October 3, 2018, unless the Texas Forest Service or the Commissioners Court determines that it is no longer necessary.
The order does not prohibit outdoor burning activities related to public health and safety that are authorized by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for: (1) firefighter training; (2) public utility, natural gas pipeline or mining operations; or (3) burns that are conducted by a prescribed burn manager certified under Section 153.048, Natural Resources Code, and meet the standards of Section 153.047, Natural Resources Code.
Authority for the ban falls under Local Government Code 352.081 and other applicable statutes

Due to TxDOT construction of State Highway 121 around the North Texas Municipal Water District's 121 RDF landfill in Melissa, Public Works is suspending the monthly First Saturday Citizen Trash Drop-Off Day beginning August 2018. Please check this website for future updates. We apologize for any inconvenience. The landfill will still accept trash from citizens willing to pay.
